Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Degree in BA/civil engineering will be prioritized. MBA will be preferred.
- Previous experience in 8 years, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Fluency in local languages and English is mandatory and proficiency in English is preferred.
- Knowledge of WASH, reporting, communication, and coordination.
Specific Tasks/Activities
- Under the direct supervision of Client, the Senior WASH Engineer will be responsible for overall planning and implementation of WASH funded projects in line with the Client and MRRD policy and guidelines.
- Strong coordination and communications with central and regional offices of Client on technical and financial issues and to overcome challenges that may be face during implementation of Client funded WASH activities.
- Collaborate with other partners such as independent monitors designated by Client.
- Sharing progress reports on monthly,
- quarterly and on need-based basis with Client
- Discuss the needs-based projects and priorities frequently with Client and seek agreement on prioritization and future planning.
- Support to enhance O&M of water supply systems.
- Coordinate with line ministries (including MoE, MOPH) to facilitate their cooperation in joint planning, implementation, and monitoring of WASH facilities in schools and health care facilities.
- Collaborate closely with WASH in Institution and Sanitation teams of Client to provide particular emphasis on institutional projects such as WASH in Schools and WASH in Health care Facilities.
- Organize monitoring teams for effective supervision, monitoring and reporting on the projects in accordance with established procedures in close coordination with M&E department of the ministry, PRRDs and clients zonal offices.
- Assure that projects are following sector policies and strategies.
- Develop and provide monitoring and supervising guidelines for all project activities at local level.
- Manage the project on a day-to-day basis, which assumes traveling to the regions/provinces to assure compliance with the project document and with national rural water supply and sanitation policies.
- Provide secretariat for the (joint coordination meeting with client) in preparing agenda and minutes from the meetings.
- The Project Manager must expect to travel to regional capitals from time to time to supervise and evaluate the projects.
