Job Descriptions:

  • Organize and supervise the distribution of food items in the field and FDP.
  • Take an active role in beneficiary registration and verification.
  • Make sure that all commodities entrusted to WASSA are properly accounted for when they arrive at Food Distribution point.
  • Arrange the PLWs (Pregnant and Lactating Women) for distribution of food.
  • Registration of PLWs in Food distribution registers.
  • Assure proper distribution of WFP Food and other Materials.
  • Prepare and submit the report on monthly basis.
  • Keep update of relevant data and records.
  • Ascertain that the commodities are of the correct quantity and quality as specified on the waybill. Record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit, and damaged quantities as soon as possible (In the field and FDP). All observations must be documented as soon as possible.
  • To ensure smooth distribution and flow of beneficiaries, ensure that the distribution center is properly organized and secured with ropes and crowd control measures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all necessary distribution equipment, such as forms, ropes, banners, plastic sheets, measuring devices, and so on, is available at the distribution center.
  • Ensure that all tally documents and beneficiary lists are properly completed and returned to the office for safe storage.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of all commodities received and distributed at FDP.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the other project teams (Cash & Food)
  • Ensure all financial documents related to daily laborers and offloading laborers related to the FDP are completed in a timely and correct manner.
  • In co-ordination with the management team develop and maintain relationships with local authorities on site ensuring good co-operation and partnership.
  • Any other task assigned by the line supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Prospective candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
  • Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • It's valuable to have prior experience of WFP projects and food distribution.
  • Able to work under heavy pressure situation
  • Ability of speaking with in local languages (Dari and Pashto) as well as English.
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Computer skills required particularly Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to various districts in the respective provinces
  • Ability to perform field assignments as well as a willingness to travel for extended periods of time in difficult terrain and harsh and demanding conditions.
