Job Descriptions:

 

A. MEAL responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the project’s MEAL framework, tools, and plans in coordination with the MEAL Supervisor.
  2. Monitor project activities regularly to ensure they are implemented according to the work plan and indicators.
  3. Conduct data collection through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and other M&E tools.
  4. Ensure accurate data entry, analysis, and management to measure progress against key project outcomes.
  5. Conduct field visits to verify data and document findings in a systematic manner.
  6. Establish and strengthen a Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) to collect and address beneficiary feedback in line with GESI and PSEA principles.
  7. Ensure accountability mechanisms are accessible to vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities.
  8. Document complaints, concerns, and feedback from stakeholders, ensuring follow-up actions are recorded and reported transparently.
  9. Develop visualized data presentations (e.g., graphs, dashboards, tables) to share project achievements and lessons learned.
  10. Ensure proper documentation and filing of project MEAL tools, reports, and learning documents.
  11. Support the project team in documenting lessons learned, challenges, and best practices throughout the project cycle.
  12. Identify and document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  13. Organize periodic learning and reflection sessions for the project team and stakeholders to enhance implementation approaches.
  14. Facilitate capacity building of project staff on MEAL tools, processes, and data utilization for improving project outcomes.
  15. Support the development and maintenance of project databases and information management systems.
  16. Assist in organizing and facilitating project evaluation and learning events.

 

B. Reporting responsibilities:

  1. Prepare periodic monitoring reports and share key findings with the project coordinator for informed decision-making.
  2. Compile and prepare high-quality weekly, monthly, quarterly, and final narrative reports in line with donor and organizational requirements.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  4. Support the Project Coordinator with data-driven updates and evidence-based reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Participate in project meetings, workshops, and trainings as required.
  6. Stay updated on the project's activities, targets, and indicators to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring.
  7. Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and other team members to address challenges and identify opportunities for project enhancement.
  8. Ensure compliance with project reporting requirements and deadlines.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance to project staff and partners on monitoring and reporting activities.
  10. Contribute to the overall project planning, implementation, and coordination as needed.

 

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in MEAL, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of MEAL methodologies, tools, and data management systems.
  4. Demonstrated experience in reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, SPSS).
  5. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  6. Proven experience in facilitating accountability and learning processes within communities.
  7. Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English.
  8. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  9. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and data visualization.
  11. Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  12. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  13. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting software.
  14. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  15. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  16. Ability to travel to project locations as needed.
