HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • Overall responsibility of the project management and control on provincial level.
  • SDP selection with PHD and planning for outreach and mobile sessions.
  • Developing data collection tools and means of verification for the project activities.
  • Orientation of the local stakeholders and project coordination with them.
  • Proper implementation of the project activities according to the project plan and achievement of the seated targets.
  • Project coordination on provincial and regional level with all stakeholders.
  • Providing ground for smooth implementation on district, community and facilities level.
  • Establishment of feedback mechanism for stakeholders and beneficiaries and conducting exit interview.
  • Participation in different meetings on provincial/regional level which are related to the project.
  • Provision and participation in capacity building program for/with the project staff.
  • Staff recruitment and orientation regarding their duties and responsibilities.
  • Proper management of stock, supply chain, quantification and monthly consumption reporting.  
  • Proper supply of medical and non-medical items to the services provider facilities. Also suitable follow up to proper use supplied items.
  • Rationalization of the target facilities for EPI services.
  • Oversee rehabilitation and renovation of the services provision sites with logistic department.
  • Oversee of all financial issues of the project for proper financial management.
  • Conducting regular supportive supervision and follow up of findings strictly.
  • Joint monitoring and supervision with PHD, country office team and other stake holders to follow findings and remove all gapes in the projects activities.
  • Collecting, analyzing and reporting of the project activities data on regular base.
  • Providing regular feedback on collected data and regular tracking of the progress.
  • Preparing ad hock, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual and end of project reports and sharing with country office.
  • Any other task assigned by senior management staff or line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Having MD/BPH degree from a recognized university, an MPH is preferable.
  • Having a minimum of 3 years’ experience in project coordination, implementation, EPI/Public Health management field with NGOs, familiar with M&E and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluent in English and local languages.
  • Computer skills: ability to work with Word, Excel, and preferably PowerPoint, internet, data entry, and report writing skills.
  • Able to travel to remote areas and districts
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
