About ACDO

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2014 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.

Job Description

The Community-Based and Gender-Sensitive Reintegration Project aims to support the sustainable reintegration of returnees, IDPs, and host community members through integrated community development interventions in Kunar Province.

This project seeks to improve living conditions and promote social cohesion by facilitating access to safe shelter, rehabilitating essential community infrastructure, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable households. Through community-driven approaches, vocational skills development, apprenticeship programs, and support to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, the project will contribute to economic recovery, self-reliance, and resilience among targeted communities.

The intervention places strong emphasis on inclusion, gender sensitivity, community participation, and equitable access to services and opportunities, ensuring that women, men, youth, returnees, and vulnerable host community members can actively contribute to and benefit from local development efforts.

To support the implementation of this initiative, a roster of qualified professionals will be established for potential engagement in technical, managerial, administrative, training, monitoring, engineering, and community outreach roles. Successful candidates will be considered for assignment based on project needs, funding approval, operational requirements, and final project staffing plans.

Job Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in vocational trainings, TVET, carpet weaving, mobile repairing, embroidery techniques, monitoring and record keeping related activities, with strong knowledge of the east region context with NNGOs/INGOs.
  • Minimum completed 12th grades, or 14th grades graduated from vocational institutes.   
  • Experience in gender inclusion and community engagement.
  • Experience in grievance handling and community consultation.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong coordination, reporting, and management skills.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good report writing and data verification skills.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in local languages (Pashto/Dari) and basic English skills.
