Job Description

The Female Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care and supporting clinical services at Jockan CHC according to BPHS, MoPH, and SAFE project standards. The incumbent will assist in patient assessment, treatment, medication administration, infection prevention, health education, and proper documentation to ensure effective healthcare delivery.

Duties and Responsiblity:

  • Provide nursing care to outpatient and inpatient clients.
  • Assist medical doctors and other clinical staff during examination and treatment procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any complications to supervisors.
  • Provide first aid and emergency nursing care when required.
  • Support ANC, PNC, family planning, and child health services.
  • Ensure safe injection practices and proper medical waste disposal. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of nursing and treatment areas
  • Assist during normal deliveries and maternal care services when required.
  • Educate mothers regarding newborn care, breastfeeding, nutrition, and hygiene.
  • Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) standards. 
  • Maintain accurate nursing records and patient documentation.
  • Record vital signs, treatments, and nursing activities properly.
  • Prepare daily and monthly nursing reports as required.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and attendants.
  • Promote awareness regarding hygiene, nutrition, immunization, and disease prevention.
  • Support outreach and community health activities if required.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
  • Coordinate with health facility staff to improve patient care. 
  • Follow BPHS, MoPH, and SAFE project policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from a recognized nursing institute.
  • Valid nursing certificate/license approved by relevant authorities.
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari.
  • At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience preferred.
  •  Knowledge of nursing care standards and infection prevention practices.
  •  Good communication and patient care skills.
  • Based at Jockan CHC, Nangarhar Province.
  • Ability to maintain records and reports accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
