Job Description

Job Summary

The PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the organization's PSEA policies and procedures to prevent and respond to incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse within the organization and its programs. The PSEA Officer will work closely with staff, partners, and beneficiaries to promote a safe and respectful working environment and ensure that all individuals associated with the organization are aware of their rights and responsibilities regarding PSEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization's PSEA policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with international standards and best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions and awareness-raising activities on PSEA for staff, partners, and beneficiaries to promote a culture of zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse.
  • Receive, investigate, and respond to reports of alleged incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse in a timely and sensitive manner, ensuring the safety and well-being of survivors.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff, partners, and beneficiaries on reporting mechanisms, protection services, and referrals for survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, UN agencies, I/NGOs, and community-based organizations, to strengthen PSEA coordination and response mechanisms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of PSEA interventions, identify gaps and challenges, and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of reported incidents, investigations, and follow-up actions to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Prepare regular reports on PSEA activities, trends, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise on any PSEA-related issues that require immediate action and advocacy.
  • Perform any other related duties as required. 

Project Accountability:

  • Setup complaint feedback mechanism and timely respond the beneficiaries’ complaints
  • Organize RRAA management feedback meetings on regular basis on the emergence SEA cases
  • Maintain record of the PSEA cases

Project Learning:

  • Organize RRAA management feedback meetings on regular basis on the emergence SEA cases
  • Disseminate the learnings of project with PSEA victims and survivors
  • Disseminate the learnings with partner office and RRAA management Record best practices and success stories

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Social Science or Public Administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in gender, PSEA, or other relevant experience.
  • Strong report writing skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, think analytically, and take initiative in solving problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively.
  • Experience in conducting assessments.
  •  Working with highly vulnerable and displaced people would be an added advantage.
  • Good verbal communication skills in local languages and working knowledge of English.
  •  Most importantly, commitment to RRAA values and principles.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with groups of diverse backgrounds.
