ASOW works for the development of Afghan society, especially women and children through providing education services, arranging capacity-building programs, imparting vocational skills training, ensuring food security, and emergency relief assistance in times of natural or man-made calamities. ASOW aims to improve the socio-economic condition of women throughout the country by providing necessary assistance and designing programs that will equip them with the right skills to take an active part in the development of society.

Job Descriptions:

Role Summary

The BSFP Focal Point will lead and manage the implementation of the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme within ASOW's collaboration with its donor. This role demands strategic coordination, effective program management, and a commitment to ensuring nutritional support reaches the targeted beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Coordination: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme in the targeted area, ensuring alignment with donor's guidelines and objectives.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to foster collaboration, garner support, and ensure smooth program implementation.
  3. Beneficiary Information and Support: Provide comprehensive information to beneficiaries about the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme, addressing queries, concerns, and providing support to ensure their understanding and active participation in the program.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish monitoring systems to track the progress, impact, and outcomes of the BSFP, conducting regular assessments and reporting on program performance.
  5. Capacity Building: Provide training, guidance, and technical support to staff and partners involved in the BSFP, enhancing their capabilities in implementing nutrition-focused initiatives.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, document program activities, challenges, and successes, ensuring timely submission of accurate and detailed reports to donor and ASOW management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managing nutrition or food assistance programs, preferably in an NGO or international organization setting.
  • Strong understanding of nutrition programs, community engagement, and monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams and cultural contexts.
  • Proficiency in English, Pashto, and Dari is required.
