Job Descriptions:

SUMARRY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Deputy Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all project activities, including cash for work, infrastructure construction, watershed management, TEVET (Technical, Entrepreneurial, Vocational Education and Training), MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR), poultry, livestock, and greenhouse projects. The role involves managing the project team, preparing quality reports, coordinating with the UNDP regional office, managing stakeholders, and overseeing procurement and finance management.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

        1.      Project Management and Coordination

        •       Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all project activities.

        •       Ensure alignment of project activities with overall project goals and objectives.

        •       Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

        •       Coordinate with the UNDP regional office to ensure smooth project execution.

        2.      Team Management

        •       Lead and manage the project team, providing guidance and support.

        •       Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.

        •       Conduct regular team meetings to track progress and address any issues.

        •       Facilitate training and capacity building for team members.

        3.      Stakeholder Management

        •       Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.

        •       Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure their involvement and support.

        •       Address stakeholder concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.

        4.      Cash for Work and Infrastructure Construction

        •       Oversee the implementation of cash for work programs, ensuring fair and transparent processes.

        •       Manage the construction of infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.

        •       Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials and services.

        5.      Watershed Management and Agricultural Projects

        •       Lead watershed management initiatives to promote sustainable land use and water conservation.

        •       Oversee agricultural projects, including poultry, livestock, and greenhouse operations.

        •       Ensure the provision of necessary training and resources to beneficiaries.

        6.      TEVET and MSMEs Development

        •       Support the implementation of TEVET programs to enhance vocational skills.

        •       Promote the development of MSMEs through training, mentorship, and access to resources.

        •       Monitor the progress and success of TEVET and MSMEs initiatives.

        7.      Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR)

        •       Oversee DDR activities, ensuring the effective reintegration of ex-combatants.

        •       Coordinate with relevant agencies and stakeholders to provide necessary support and resources.

        8.      Reporting and Documentation

        •       Prepare and submit high-quality reports on project activities, progress, and outcomes.

        •       Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project activities and expenditures.

        •       Maintain comprehensive project records for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

        9.      Procurement and Finance Management

        •       Oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

        •       Manage project finances, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.

        •       Ensure transparent and accountable financial management practices.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a focus on development projects, including TEVET, MSMEs, infrastructure, and agricultural initiatives.
