Midwife

HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

1. Provision of ANC, PNC, delivery and family planning services to the clients
2. Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and maternal Counseling of all mothers with a special focus on Pregnant and lactating mothers/women
3. Giving health education to pregnant and lactating mothers
4. Coordination with HF staff and project management staff
5. Night duty in the HFs as per schedule
6. Maintain partograph and other related registers and documents
7. Observing IPC in the HF
8. Administration of vaccine specially during the night duty whole vaccinator is absent
9. Meeting with community elders for community awareness and sensitization
10. Counseling to pregnant and lactating women for getting additional food.
11. Encouraging mothers to receive Iron Folic Acid (IFA) during lactation and pregnancy.
12. Attend planned training by HNTPO
13. Observe the organization policies and rules
14. Application of the RMNCH related policies and guidelines during the practice
15. Good behavior with clients and staff
16. Support health promotors regarding RH sessions
17. Fulfilling all relevant registers and support documents.
18. Regular reporting to the line manager
19. Consideration of the data accuracy and consistency
20. Well maintaining the HFs registers and documents while joining the HF
21. Other task assigned by line manager

Degree: Graduate from GIHS or recognized midwifery schools

Experience: At least three year working experience in AHF or BPHS health facilities.

Other skills: Knowledge of the local languages, good communication and counselling skills
