In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • Develop a monthly action plan and comprehensive supportive supervision plan.
  • Conduct regular CHWs health post visits and attend HF and HP level local coordination and monthly health committee meetings.
  • Organize and facilitate CHWs training, conduct supportive supervision from all HPs within the HF catchment area, with main focus on CHWs’ on-the-job training, gather feedback from local communities/clients, and report to the HF.
  • Prepare a schedule for monthly health Shura meetings and ensure full and active participation of community elders.
  • Support Health facility to organize services in terms of clients, and patients flow control/screening.
  • Maintain regular communication and establish close coordination between the community and health facility.
  • Responsible to support the community in finding and solving health problems.
  • Assist health facility staff in planning community health programs for the catchment areas.
  • Conduct community awareness sessions as per the Health Facility plan and IEC materials given by the Health Facility in charge/doctor regularly.
  • Conduct regular health education sessions according to the health facility health education plan and organize public awareness sessions in target communities and HP level with active involvement of CHWs.
  • Regular reporting to health facility regarding all CBHC activities and CHWs monthly performance.
  • Collect reports from CHWs, analyze and compile them into MAAR form, and report them to the HF in charge or provincial CBHC officer
  • Organize and provide medicine and medical supply packages for his/her relevant CHWs working in the clinic catchment area.
  • Participate in the CAAC survey and any other catchment mapping population activities.
  • Facilitate the establishment of a local emergency transportation system for transferring severe and critical cases to health facilities.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from medical institute, nursing school, or at least completed 6-month midlevel courses.
  • At least 3 years of work experience as a nurse or higher position in of the health facility.
  • Fluency in local language and good communication skills.
