The role of the MEAL Manager is to ensure the quality of programmes in Afghanistan and to measure that quality through a clear set of qualitative and quantitative indicators. Among his/her responsibility sit the leading role in establishing/improving and maintaining effective monitoring systems and tools, building the capacity of staff to collect, analyse and utilize project data and learnings in systematic and useful ways. The MEAL Manager also provides support to the Country Representative and Head of Program in the development, management and co-ordination of reporting systems, and programme-wide assessment, baseline, and evaluation tools. The MEAL manager holds the responsibility to coordinate within his/her department the village profiles based on the specific socio-economic indicators enabling Mission East to measure the changes and impacts encountered over the time delivering the humanitarian and development assistance.

Necessary Competencies
Do you have solid experience in leading roles in establishing/improving and maintaining effective monitoring systems and tools, building the capacity of staff to collect, analyse and utilize project data and learnings in systematic and useful ways in multi-donor and multi-sector programs?
Do you have strong relationships and communication skills that you have demonstrated with a wide range of stakeholders – from donors, to NGO network, specialists, and partners?
And are you willing to be based in Badakhshan and traveling to Mission East other field sites to oversee programs, and build staff and partners’ capacity with strong quality standards?
