Welthungerhilfe it is one of Germany's biggest non-governmental relief organizations. Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 projects in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.
Purpose of The Position:
The Hygiene & Nutrition trainer will assist the training department and will work together with other trainers to achieve the project outputs. She will be primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of hygiene/nutrition trainings in the targeted communities.
Role and Responsibilities
Traveling to the target districts required to conduct trainings.
Organize and conduct hygiene and nutrition trainings and awareness sessions about personal and environmental hygiene, and nutrition and prevention measures to the targeted communities and develop training plan/calendar for the whole period.
Participate in developing teaching tools adapted to various levels of the population: role games, meetings, training, etc.
Apply the methodologies defined for the sensitizing sessions on hygiene and nutrition promotion.
Considering the production problems / Do No Harm policy for the population.
Build and maintain good relationships with community members and community leaders.
On time coordinate with the line Manager and other relevant project staff in all issues related to the implementation of hygiene and nutrition activities.
Motivate the community for contribution in the program.
Represent the organization with the beneficiaries with the agreement of the hierarchical supervisor.
Strong planning and reporting ability. Provide daily and weekly progress/activity report.
Assist training department in day-to-day tasks and activities.
Keep an updated record of all field activities undertaken.
Assist CMs with the field support including distributions, and PPs selection.
Any other assignment given by the supervisor.
