Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

To enhance and improve the capacity of staff and partners in understanding and applying disability inclusion principles across all program activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Training Development and Planning:

  • Design 8-day training program on disability inclusion for IMC staff and UNFPA partners, aligning with international frameworks like the UNCRPD.
  • Develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, and promotional materials, tailored to the Afghan context and specific program needs.
  • Training Facilitation a Delivery:
  • Conduct interactive sessions on:
  • Disability rights and inclusion principles.
  • Addressing barriers to access for persons with disabilities.
  • Inclusive communication and service delivery techniques.

Training Development and Planning:

  • Design 8-day training program on disability inclusion for IMC staff and UNFPA partners, aligning with international frameworks like the UNCRPD.

  • Use participatory approaches, including role-plays, case studies, group discussions, and simulations, to enhance learning outcomes.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide targeted training to program staff, ensuring they can identify, address, and advocate for the needs of persons with disabilities.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and administer pre- and post-training evaluations to assess participant learning.
  • Submit a comprehensive training report with participant feedback and evaluation results.

Knowledge Management and Sharing:

  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and updates on disability-related issues through presentations and reports.

Deliverables:

Training Program:

  • Finalized agenda, materials, and tools for the 8-day disability inclusion training.

Training Sessions:

  • Successful facilitation of all training modules with active participation.

Reports:

  • Pre- and post-training evaluation results.
  • Comprehensive training report summarizing activities, outcomes, and recommendations
  • These duties represent the core responsibilities of the Disability and Inclusion Training Facilitator and may be adjusted as per project needs.

Policy Adherence:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

Safeguarding:

It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Education, or a related field (psychosocial skills preferred).

Experience:

  • experience in facilitating training on disability inclusion or advocacy for people with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with disability rights frameworks (e.g., UNCRPD) and local contexts.

Competency:

  • Strong reporting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office software packages.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Dari, and Pashto.
