Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian organization working in Afghanistan in the areas of health, education, capacity building, human rights, nutrition, emergency, protection, research, and WASH with an aim at improving livelihoods and alleviating poverty. The organization works and is registered under the Ministry of Economy with registration number 316 of 28/10/1384. The organization works in collaboration with other line ministries, UN- agencies, NGOs, INGOs, and donor community. The mandate of JACK is to improve lives of the people we touch through our programs. We strive to have a community that is empowered, participates in its development and is able to use the resources available to them to get what they want. We work to assist communities in their efforts that lead them to self-help and, in essence, self-reliance that comes with economic and social independence. When the children are safe, the women and men can provide for their families with pride, and our community is vibrant again; we will have achieved it. In addition, we provide assistance to refugees, victims of Disaster, people with disability and marginalized groups in the community. Our service is without fear, favor or prejudice to race, nationality, religion, political affiliations JACK has been working in the country since 2001 and its record speaks volumes for itself. We implement the largest by-sector education and health program in the country and have a multisectoral program that looks at all the areas of need of the vulnerable in the community. JACK as an independent organization has its charter, policies, and procedures developed in line with the operating country laws and international standards. JACK Charter, the main governing instrument of the organization, is emphasizing on the effective and efficient use of the resources. JACK's financial management policy and procedures are prepared in line with International Accounting Standards (IASs) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Job Purpose:

The Field Monitor/Social Mobilizer is reportable to Education Officer. The following items are the main responsibilities of Field Monitor/Social Mobilizer:

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitoring from CBE classes regularly.
• Monitoring from CBE teachers teaching process regularly.
• Cooperation with CBE teachers in making local teaching materials, lesson plans, student hygiene, management of class and school, and the physical environment of school.
• Checking of education materials that are sent through the logistics unit and giving a report to the related unit.
• Controlling the attendance of teachers and students.
• Checking of admin books.
• Filling of the logbook of educational materials and distribution of them to students.
• Taking part in SMS meetings monthly.
• Encouragement of SMS members to participate in school management, security of school, cooperation in students’ attendance, and cooperation in school building and construction.
• Jointly visiting with DED members from CBE classes.
• Conducting training if needed.
• Follow up of ASAS number for newly enrolled students.
• Follow-up of student results.
• Follow up on the handover, integration, and upgrading of CBE classes.
• Follow up on the finding of land for school construction.
• Monitoring of related hub schools and resource centers.
• Taking part in educational training if needed and facilitating some training for teachers and SMS members.
• Evaluation of the quality of learning of students.
• And other related tasks that are given by the related Education officer.

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position with national and international NGOs.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or 14th grade with 5 years of the same experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills.
• The position will be based in Helmand with frequent travels to the districts.
• The field monitor/social mobilizer is required to have his own transportation/motorbike; the office will pay for fuel.
• The field monitor/social mobilizer is required to have his/her own smartphone for ODK purposes.
