Job Descriptions:

The major responsibilities of the Project Officer include planning and managing field operations, coordinating with stakeholders, and preparing reports and food requests based on the final headcount.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning: Develop a comprehensive plan for all project activities at the provincial level, including timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Field Operations Management: Manage and supervise field staff, ensuring they adhere to project objectives and timelines. Adjust work schedules as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Food Requests: Collect, collate, compile, and share food consumption rates and stock balances in a timely manner and share necessary food requests for the project activities and coordinate the delivery process.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain regular communication with provincial and district officials to ensure effective coordination and cooperation. Collaborate with community elders, school management, and parents to address community risks associated with the school feeding program.
  • Reporting: Apply available data management systems to collect, compile and report the data including stock balances, consumption rates and daily attendance records, Enrolment data, monitoring checklists, stakeholder information, demographic data among others. Prepare timely field reports on school feeding activities and food distribution, providing accurate and comprehensive information. Submit reports to the project manager on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination among project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment. Assist the SF project manager in managing emergencies and follow their instructions.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to field staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
  • Integration and Synergy: Coordinate with other project staff to ensure integration and synergy, promoting efficient resource utilization and collaboration.
  • Meetings and Events: Participate in monthly stakeholders meeting, education cluster meeting, organize monthly staff meetings, training workshops, and project events held in any province to stay updated and contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Site Monitoring: Visit project sites regularly to monitor activities, evaluate progress, and ensure proper implementation.
  • Policy Adherence: Adhere to all organizational policies, including transparency, accountability, code of conduct, PSEA and other relevant policies.

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma in Management, Education, Sociology, or a related social science field.
  •  At least 2 years of experience in project management, community development, or a related field, with a specific focus on the education sector.
  • Excellent communication skills in Pashto/Dari and English, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Package.
  • Outstanding skills in building and managing teams.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities, with a track record of achieving measurable results through diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the province and its districts.
  • Good reporting skill.
