Job Description

The Food Technologist will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of school feeding programs. This includes process optimization, providing technical support, and overseeing the preparation and delivery of safe, high-quality food commodities to students.

 

Terms of Reference:

  • Develop a pre-assessment checklist based on HACCP and ISO-22000 for assessing food production, storage, and transportation facilities.
  • Create and deliver training materials on Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food production workers.
  • Develop and implement a HACCP plan, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct monthly food safety audits, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Create a bakery production manual for the School Feeding Programme (SFP).
  • Design process flow diagrams and ensure daily factory documentation complies with standards.
  • Monitor raw material specifications to ensure they meet production and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate testing of raw materials, products, and packaging to ensure food safety compliance.
  • Conduct surveys for SFP, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop SOPs and provide technical guidance to enhance food safety and quality.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food technology, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing and processing.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and GMP.
  • Familiarity with bakery production equipment and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and training skills.
