Job Description
Job Purpose
The Field Monitor is responsible for overseeing the distribution of Bread+, High-Energy Biscuits (HEB), and Vegetable Oil to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. The position requires regular field visits to monitor the distribution process, verify compliance with standards, and ensure that beneficiaries receive the allocated food items in accordance with program guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the distribution of Bread+, Fortified Biscuits (HEB), and Vegetable Oil.
- Train the distributor on stock cards and stock management.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all distribution activities.
- Verify that distributions align with the agreed-upon plans and ensure that beneficiaries receive their entitlements.
- Identify and report any irregularities, shortages, or discrepancies in food distribution.
- Collect and compile data from the field to contribute to monitoring and evaluation reports.
- Engage with beneficiaries to gather feedback and address concerns regarding food distribution.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and storage protocols at distribution points.
- Collaborate with school distributor teams, parents, Teachers Committees, and stakeholders to enhance distribution efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for improving the distribution process based on field observations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Nutrition, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in field monitoring, food distribution, or humanitarian aid programs.
- Familiarity with food distribution standards and humanitarian assistance principles.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work in challenging field conditions with minimal supervision. Experience working with WFP Bread+ or School Feeding projects is an asset and preferred.
- Proficiency in local languages and understanding of the regional context is an asset.
