The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the branch, ensuring the achievement of financial and operational targets, managing staff, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. The role involves supervising loan disbursement and recovery processes, implementing risk management strategies, and ensuring compliance with microfinance regulations.
1. Branch Operations Management:
• Oversee daily operations of the branch to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all microfinance policies, regulations, and best practices.
• Monitor financial transactions, cash flow, and loan portfolio quality.
• Prepare and submit financial and operational reports to senior management.
2. Loan Portfolio & Risk Management:
• Supervise loan disbursement, ensuring proper documentation and due diligence.
• Monitor loan repayment performance and implement recovery strategies for delinquent loans.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper credit analysis before loan approvals.
• Implement measures to minimize Non-Performing Loans (NPLs).
3. Business Growth & Client Relationship Management:
• Develop strategies to attract new clients and expand the branch’s loan portfolio.
• Build strong relationships with existing clients and local community members.
• Promote financial literacy and educate clients on loan products and responsible borrowing.
4. Staff Supervision & Team Leadership:
• Manage, train, and supervise branch staff, ensuring they meet performance targets.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching where necessary.
• Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and motivation.
5. Compliance & Reporting:
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports to head office.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors during audits.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services.
• Proven experience in credit management, loan recovery, and financial reporting.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Skills & Competencies:
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of microfinance principles and risk management strategies.
• Ability to develop and implement business growth strategies.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software.
