Job Description

1. Purpose of the Position:

The Fleet Operations Assistant/Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating food delivery operations, including Nashta Bread+, ensuring efficient transportation and warehousing processes. This role involves close coordination with transportation companies, inventory management, and overseeing the distribution of food and non-food items such as cooking oil. The role ensures compliance with operational policies, safety regulations, and donor requirements.

 

2. Key Responsibilities:

Fleet and Transportation Management:

  • Coordinate with the transportation company to ensure timely and efficient delivery of food supplies.
  • Maintain a tracking system for vehicle movements and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with fleet safety regulations and security protocols.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance.
  • Address any logistical issues that arise during food deliveries.

Warehouse and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of food and non-food items.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic stock checks.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to maintain quality standards.
  • Implement warehouse safety and security procedures.
  • Prepare inventory reports and share updates with relevant stakeholders.

Coordination and Reporting:

  • Work closely with the field office team, suppliers, and transporters to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Coordinate with procurement and program teams for stock replenishment.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet and warehouse activities.

Maintain documentation of deliveries, including waybills and receipts

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet operations, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Experience in humanitarian supply chain management is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and logistics tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging field environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
