Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

The Team Leader – School Feeding Project is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the School Feeding Project at the district level. Due to the geographical complexity of the province, this position acts on behalf of the Project Manager to ensure smooth execution of project activities in assigned districts. The Team Leader will work closely with field teams, community representatives, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure efficient food distribution, adherence to project guidelines, and achievement of program objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation & Coordination:

  • Lead the implementation of the School Feeding Project within the assigned districts, ensuring alignment with project objectives and work plans.
  • Supervise field teams, ensuring timely and efficient food distribution to targeted schools.
  • Monitor stock levels, distribution processes, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with school management, community leaders, and local authorities to ensure program success.
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with SHPOUL and donor regulations, as well as local government policies.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor food distribution, school attendance, and impact on students.
  • Collect, verify, and compile reports on distribution, attendance records, and project progress.
  • Identify and report challenges affecting project implementation and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely submission of reports to the Project Manager.

Team Management & Capacity Building:

  • Provide guidance, support, and supervision to field teams, including Field Monitors and Distribution Assistants.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and capacity-building sessions for field staff to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Foster teamwork and ensure a positive work environment within field teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:

  • Represent SHPOUL and the School Feeding Project at the district level, liaising with local government officials, community leaders, and school authorities.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders to enhance collaboration and address challenges.
  • Advocate for community participation in the project to enhance ownership and sustainability.

Risk Management & Problem-Solving:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to food distribution, community engagement, or security, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Act promptly to resolve any operational issues in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the safety and security of staff, beneficiaries, and project resources in line with SHPOUL security protocols.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Agriculture, Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in humanitarian or development projects, preferably in food security, school feeding, or nutrition programs.
  • Experience in team management, field coordination, and community engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in local language(s) and English.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the province, sometimes under challenging conditions.
  • Knowledge of donor requirements and reporting standards is an asset.
