About OMID Organization
The Organization for Management, Initiatives and Development (OMID) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established in 2007 by a group of Afghan multidisciplinary professionals. OMID’s mission is to serve vulnerable and marginalized populations across Afghanistan through sustainable, community-driven development and humanitarian programs.
OMID works to strengthen the technical skills and capacities of local communities through multi-sectoral interventions that promote poverty reduction, self-sufficiency, social justice, and community stability throughout the country.
The Female Psychosocial Officer will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities under OMID’s Protection Project for returnees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and host communities in Jalalabad City, Nangarhar Province.
The position requires strong technical knowledge of psychosocial support methodologies, mental health case management, and community-based protection approaches. The officer will provide psychosocial counseling and emotional support, facilitate group sessions, and coordinate referrals for individuals in need of specialized mental health services.
