Job Descriptions:

Job Summary: 

The Child Protection Officer is responsible for facilitating child protection initiatives across regional provinces., The primary focus is to provide technical oversight and leadership to child protection case workers, child protection committees, and child-friendly spaces to ensure high-quality project implementation. The incumbent will be responsible for following all enacted WAW policies and donor agencies' guidelines/ policies, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Regional Manager in program quality, overall coordination, protection, and monitoring of field work.
  • Provide direct technical support and supervision to Child Protection Case Workers and project team members.
  • Lead case management activities and act as the primary supervisor in field sites, ensuring all case workers use standard forms consistently and correctly.
  • Supervise the secure coordination and sharing of sensitive data with external service providers following the latest Case Management SOPs.
  • Undertake regular field visits to assess program quality, providing actionable recommendations and feedback on field team performance.
  • Represent the project in provincial CPAN meetings and other relevant inter-agency coordination forums.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government authorities (DoLSA), community leaders, and local stakeholders to strengthen the overall child protection system.
  • Initiate community dialogues to expand community awareness regarding child protection.
  • Conduct induction meetings with families, teachers, the community, and other stakeholders to establish a children's group.
  • Develop and implement a detailed work plan in coordination with the project team to ensure timely and quality delivery of child protection activities.
  • Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of child protection initiatives in the region.
  • Assist in the identification and procurement of materials for field activities.
  • Coordinate with the Operations department to ensure the timely and safe delivery of supplies allocated to field activities.
  • Regularly liaise with field teams to monitor progress, address challenges, and update the Project Manager on implementation status.
  • Mobilize communities to actively participate in child protection interventions, including identifying and supporting children in need.
  • Promote community-based mechanisms, such as Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) and Child Protection Committees (If any), to enhance child safety and well-being.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with local stakeholders, including government authorities, community groups, and partner organizations, to strengthen child protection systems.
  • Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding policies, including PSEA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor that align with the project scope and objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • At least be an undergraduate degree holder from one of the accredited universities, especially in the field of psychology, the medical field, or any other relevant field. 
  • At least 04 years of experience in the humanitarian field, especially in humanitarian services, protection, women's and children's rights, etc. Preference will be given to candidate having strong child protection experiences.
  • Be good in English and professional in the reading and writing of Pashto and Dari.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Great teamwork player in the professional environment.
  • Should have impressive staff inducement skills.
