About MMRCA:

Background Information:

The Medical Management and Research Courses for Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-for profit, non-political, humanitarian organization established in March 2008 by Afghan Health Professionals and is registered as an NGO with the ministry of economy (MoE) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

MMRCA has been implemented SEHAT-II, SEHAT-III and SEHATMANDI (BPHS+EPHS) Projects in Ghazni, Badghis and Faryab provinces. Currently MMRCA has been awarded the Health Emergency Response Projects Badghis, Samangan and Sar- e-Pul since 1st February 2023 and will continue until 29st Feb2024 for Badghis province and until 31th March 2025 for Samangan and Sar-e-Pol provinces, and Z-Grant (Malaria-TB- HIV) project at Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan, Samangan, Faryab and Sar-e Pul provinces from November 2025 to December 2026.

Through Z-Grant, project MMRCA has been providing quality health services to the entire population of the mentioned provinces according to the signed grant agreement with donor and MoPH policies/ strategies. MMRCA invites and encourage eligible candidates to apply for the position of TB Screener located at Nangarhar - Torkham

Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform TB active case finding (ACF) through conducting TB screening among Afghan returnees and migrants with particular focus on areas of high return and cross-border migration, such as at border crossings points, in cross-border communities, and in settlements that migrant and returnee populations at greater risk of potential exposure to TB.
  2. Ensure the referral of all detected presumptive TB cases to the nearest diagnostic health facilities and ensure the completion of the required laboratory examinations.
  3. Performed proper documentation of newly diagnosed TB cases for follow up; record TB patients’ full information, contacts, referrals, treatment, and follow up.
  4. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and collaborative relationships with clients, partners, and health professionals.
  5. Build strong cooperative relations with health facility and involved sides.
  6. Regular follow up from confirmed TB cases with health facilities.
  7. Coordinate with partners who provide services for returnees and migrants to integrate TB awareness raising within their activities to expand outreach.
  8. Insure collection of accurate data, interpretation of data and analysis of the collected data.
  9. Active participation in TB relevant training and meeting if any.
  10. Prepare and submit monthly reports to the TB-RSSH project focal point on the progress of field activities and challenges encountered, as well as summary information on numbers screened, presumptive cases detected and referred, positive cases diagnosed, and the completion status of treatment.
  11. Implement the agreed upon SOPs and follow the national TB guidelines during daily activities.
  12. Support the field implementation of the Global Fund Regional Cross-border TB Catalytic Grant supported project, “TB/MDR-TB INTERVENTIONS AMONG AFGHAN REFUGEES, RETURNEES.
  13.  Perform any related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within MMRCA and amongst beneficiaries served by MMRCA.

Job Requirements:

  • MD degree from a recognized University / Medical Institute
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinic field particularly  TB
