Job Summary

The Surveyor/distributor is responsible for the collection of information on assigned tasks by the Humanitarian department of IRW, conducting door-to-door assessment surveys for profiling communities and implementing the distribution interventions assigned by the Humanitarian department of IRW in the targeted locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Regularly travel to targeted urban and rural areas across cities and districts of the assigned provinces, ensuring timely presence in hard-to-reach and underserved communities.
  • Conduct accurate, respectful, and timely household-level assessments and door-to-door surveys in close coordination with Community Development Councils (CDCs), village elders, and community representatives, to identify and register vulnerable households in line with approved program criteria.
  • Engage with community members in a culturally sensitive manner to help identify the most vulnerable groups, including female-headed households, persons with disabilities, elderly-headed households, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returnees.
  • Actively support inclusive community engagement by developing practical approaches to reach vulnerable households in remote and rural locations, taking into account security, accessibility, and cultural norms.
  • Ensure that all selected beneficiaries strictly meet the eligibility criteria and that the selection process is transparent, fair, and free from favoritism or influence.
  • Accurately register beneficiary and community information and maintain an organized and up-to-date database, ensuring confidentiality and protection of personal data at all times.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and refresher sessions related to assessment tools, protection principles, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and data quality.
  • Immediately report any challenges, risks, community feedback, or protection concerns encountered in the field to the supervisor or relevant team.
  • Adhere to organizational values, humanitarian principles, safeguarding policies, and local customs while representing the organization professionally in the field.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management that support effective program implementation and community engagement.

Job Requirements:

Qualification:

  • 12 Grade, Diploma or bachelor’s degree in social science or any other relevant field is preferable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in data collection, surveys, assessments, or similar field-based work.

Required Skills:

  • Proven fast and accurate English typing skills with strong data entry experience, particularly using digital data collection tools.
  • Familiarity with electronic data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare, or similar) is an asset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse communities.
