How can you make a difference? 

Purpose of the job:  

The Information Management Officer supports the implementation and maintenance of UNICEF’s data systems and tools, contributing to planning, reporting, and monitoring processes. The Officer plays a key role in cleaning, managing, and visualizing data, while supporting the capacity development of UNICEF field teams, extenders, and partners on basic IM tasks.

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • A University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in information management, Statistics, Computer Science, or another subject area relevant to Information Management.
  • Formal training in Monitoring, Data, GIS, or Information Management is considered an advantage.

Work Experience: 

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in information management, data management, geographical information systems, assessments, and situation analysis with the UN and/or NGO is required.
  • Experience demonstrating very strong information management skills in a professional context is essential for this post.
  • Strong technical skills in data visualization tools (Power BI), spreadsheets, SQL, and/or Python/R.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF’s indicator frameworks, humanitarian reporting (SitRep, RAM, CSIs), and planning tools.
  • Proven experience in capacity building and mentoring of diverse audiences. 

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and the official UN language of the duty station are required.

Desirables:

  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
