Job Description
The Transport & Transit Manager is a senior management position responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all transport and transit activities of the organization. Under the direction of senior management, the role ensures the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of domestic and cross-border transport and transit operations. The position plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and effective reporting to General Manager / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Senior Management
across all ports and operational locations.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Transport & Transit Operations
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate all transport and transit operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of goods and personnel
- Oversee domestic transportation and international transit activities, including port and border operations
- Maintain effective coordination with ports, border focal points, customs authorities, and other relevant stakeholders
- Monitor operational performance, vehicle utilization, and transit timelines and implement corrective actions when required
- Ensure full compliance with applicable transport laws, transit regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies
Organizational Structure, Roles & Reporting
- Establish and maintain a clear organizational structure for transport and transit departments
- Define, document, and communicate duties and responsibilities of staff in each section
- Develop, implement, and monitor a structured and accountable reporting system for all ports and operational units
- Review, verify, and analyze monthly operational and financial reports submitted by all locations
- Prepare and present consolidated performance and financial reports to Top Management, including analysis and recommendations
Financial Management & Control
- Exercise full managerial control over all financial activities related to transport and transit operations
- Develop and implement robust financial control systems for customs fees, transit charges, , and operational expenses
- Management and control of revenues generated from each project and operational activity.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, track expenditures, and analyze variances to ensure cost efficiency
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented, authorized, and ready for internal or external audits
- Promote financial discipline, transparency, and accountability across all transport and transit operations
Planning, Policies & Procedures
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term transport and transit operational plans aligned with organizational objectives
- Establish, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and internal controls
- Ensure consistent implementation of approved plans and procedures across all ports and operational locations
- Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Continuously review operational performance and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and controls
