Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Program Coordinator will support, coordinate, and oversee the day-to-day implementation of all WPSO programs. The position works closely with the Program Manager and program teams to ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, coordination, and compliance across all program activities.

Job Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide support to the Program Manager in coordinating and overseeing all WPSO programs to ensure consistency with the organization’s mandate, vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
  2. Work closely with program teams to plan, implement, monitor, and track project activities, work plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  3. Coordinate day-to-day program implementation, monitor progress, and facilitate problem-solving to address operational and implementation challenges.
  4. Supervise and coordinate provincial focal points, ensuring timely reporting, effective data collection and information sharing.
  5. Ensure the timely and proactive communication with donors, and represent the WPSO at outside stages as a requested.
  6. Compile, review, and manage situation reports, monitoring data, and updates received from provincial focal points and partner organizations.
  7. Support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of program staff and consultants in accordance with WPSO Human Resources policies and procedures.
  8. Coordinate the preparation, quality assurance, and timely submission of narrative and progress reports for donors and key stakeholders.
  9. Provide regular updates to the Program Manager and senior leadership on program progress, risks, challenges, and key achievements.
  10. Ensure accurate and well-organized program documentation, including monitoring tools, issue logs, and reporting records.
  11. Support the identification of funding opportunities and assist in drafting, reviewing, and coordinating concept notes and grant proposals.
  12. Provide technical and programmatic input to senior leadership for the development of new initiatives aligned with WPSO’s strategic goals.
  13. Assist in the design and development of new projects and activities that advance WPSO’s vision and mission.
  14. Support the tracking of program budgets, expenditures, and donor reporting in close coordination with Finance and Operations teams.
  15. Coordinate program communications, outreach, and visibility activities, including the preparation and editing of content in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  16. Ensure timely updates to the WPSO website and social media platforms, maintaining consistent, accurate, and high-quality external messaging.
  17. Build and maintain effective partnerships with national and international organizations, media, civil society organizations, women’s networks, and relevant stakeholders, and represent WPSO in coordination and advocacy forums as delegated.
  18. Carry out any other duties assigned by the Program Manager and senior leadership in support of WPSO’s objectives.
