Job Description

The Provincial Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, reporting the progress, monitoring, evaluating and managing all aspects of the GPE-STG Education Project in Badghis Province. The position holder must ensure professional, high - quality programmatic activities and results.

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of National Education Coordinator.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor all the education project activities, Education MEAL, CP, Teacher Educators and other team members.
  • Coordinate all the project activities with relevant government authorities, community elders, donor agency and HQ Office.
  • Participate in monthly and biweekly meetings conducting by government sectorial departments.
  • Ensure every phase of the project implementation is in compliance with the project scope of work, donor requirements and government rules and regulations.
  • Ensure all project activities are conducted within specified timeline, allocated budget, quality and the other resources allocated for the project activities.
  • Develop monthly work plans for all the activities and track every activity as per the scheduled plan.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly work-plans and report on their activities and ensure the project team is in regular coordination and communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Support the M&E Officer and ensure each project has an up to date and effective M&E plan in accordance with the project log frame and indicators.
  • Support the development of new training modules and manuals on child rights and social work skills.
  • Organize workshops and trainings for newly recruited project staff.
  • Conduct field visits to assure the quality of activities conducted by the project team.
  • Support CBSs, Catch Up, ECCD students and teacher identification, verification, crosschecking, and final selection in line with project plans, selection criteria, and standards.
  • Design a mechanism through which project beneficiaries could easily share their issues, problems and concerns and the project staff resolves the issues in compliance with the project scope of work.
  • Provide weekly, monthly activities report to the Education Program Manager.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum seven years of experience in project management, education, or community development at the provincial or regional level with a Bachelor’s degree; or five years with a Master’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, project management or relevant field master degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial governance structures, local authorities, and community dynamics.
  • Experience in managing teams, budgets, and multiple education projects.
  • Knowledge of education systems and child development stages in Afghanistan.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dari/Pashto; ability to prepare reports for donors.
  • Ability to frequently travel to districts and remote communities under challenging conditions.
