ASLO is registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.  Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

Job Description

The Media, Communication, and Graphic Design Officer is responsible for creating visual concepts that effectively communicate ideas, messages, and brand identity. The purpose of this role is to develop engaging designs for print, digital, and multimedia platforms that capture the attention of the target audience, support marketing and communication objectives, and enhance the overall visual identity of an organization.

Scope of Work – Media, Communication, and Graphic Design Officer (Summary)

The Media, Communication, and Graphic Design Officer is responsible for creating, designing, and delivering visual content for both digital and print media. The role covers the conceptualization, development, and execution of design projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s branding, marketing, and communication goals.

Key areas include:

  • Designing marketing materials, advertisements, social media graphics, websites, and presentations.
  • Developing visual concepts that effectively communicate messages to the target audience.
  • Collaborating with marketing, product, and communication teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Producing high-quality graphics within deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Staying updated with design trends, tools, and technologies to enhance creative output.
  • Video production and Media management

The Media, Communication, and Graphic Design Officer plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s visual identity and enhancing audience engagement through creative design solutions.

Major Responsibilities –  Media, Communication, and Graphic Design Officer

  1. Visual Concept Development
    • Create innovative and visually appealing designs for digital and print media.
    • Transform ideas and concepts into graphics that communicate effectively.
  2. Branding and Identity
    • Ensure all designs align with the organization’s brand guidelines and visual identity.
    • Maintain consistency across all marketing and communication materials.
  3. Marketing and Promotional Material Design
    • Design brochures, flyers, posters, banners, social media graphics, email campaigns, and advertisements.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to produce materials that support campaigns and initiatives.
  4. Digital Content Design
    • Create web graphics, UI/UX assets, infographics, and multimedia content.
    • Optimize graphics for web and mobile platforms.
  5. Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with marketing, product, and communications teams to understand design requirements.
    • Provide design recommendations and feedback to improve visual communication.
  6. Project Management and Timely Delivery
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
    • Maintain organized files, templates, and design assets for efficient workflow.
  7. Research and Trend Awareness
    • Stay updated with current design trends, tools, and technologies.
    • Incorporate innovative design approaches to enhance visual appeal and engagement.
  8. Feedback and Revisions
    • Revise designs based on stakeholder feedback while maintaining design integrity.
    • Ensure final output meets project objectives and quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in: Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, Digital Media

2. Preferred Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in: Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media or related creative fields

3. Professional Certifications (Optional but Preferred)

  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or After Effects
  • UX/UI Design Certification
  • Web and Digital Design courses

4. Experience Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in graphic design, branding, or multimedia design
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media graphics is preferred
  • Portfolio demonstrating a range of creative and technical skills

5. Other Requirements

  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design
  • Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.)
  • Knowledge of web and digital design principles

Language

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of local language(s) is an added advantage.
