Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO) is a national, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and non-partisan organization officially registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013 (Registration Number: 2852).

Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Finance Director will oversee ASLO’s financial management, ensuring compliance with donor and government financial regulations, effective budget planning, accurate reporting, and financial accountability across all projects. This is a permanent, five-year position with responsibility for managing multiple projects (1–40 projects), leading the finance team, and securing funding for new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all ASLO financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with donor, government, and organizational financial policies.
- Supervise accounting systems, internal controls, and financial audits.
- Develop budgets for existing and new projects and coordinate with donors.
- Prepare financial proposals and reports for national and international donors.
- Coordinate with relevant government ministries (e.g., Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy).
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure timely financial accountability.
- Lead fundraising initiatives for new programs and manage donor relationships for the finance parts with the program unit .
- Supervise finance staff and build team capacity.
- Travel to provinces to monitor project finances and ensure proper implementation.
- Ensure all reporting, documentation, and communication is conducted in English.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure full compliance during national and international audits.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in financial management, preferably in NGOs.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale financial operations and budgets.
- Experience with financial proposal writing, donor reporting, and project budgeting.
- Strong coordination skills with donors, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to work with ASLO for at least 2 years.
- Ability to travel to provinces across Afghanistan.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in English, Dari, and/or Pashto (written and spoken).
- Strong leadership, financial management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent skills in budget preparation, reporting, and donor compliance.
- Ability to supervise and build the capacity of finance staff.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (1–40 projects).
