HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. HealthNet TPO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions with a focus on: innovative development of health systems, mental health and psychosocial care, long and short term training of health workers, control of communicable diseases (including malaria), and health financing schemes. HealthNet TPO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all.
HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system. HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program,SEHATMANDI projects in four provinces, nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach
HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel
1. Planning of the nursing care for eye ward
2. Infection prevention and control measures observation in the eye ward
3. Health education about eye health care to the clients
4. Conducting eye exams
5. Performing initial screenings for eye care and monitoring disease progression
6. Assisting with early treatment of chronic ophthalmic conditions
7. Registration of the clients in the relevant registers of the eye ward
8. Treating patients with eye problems, which may involve administering
medications or showing patients how to administer medications like eye
drops
9. Educating patients on eye health and treatment options
10. Applying eye drops while needed
11. Managing patients referred from other wards/unite
12. Collecting medical histories, recording visual activity and ocular functions,
and other information related to patient visits before and after cataract
surgeries
13. Completion of consent form for the patients who are candidate for cataract
surgery
14. Assisting the ophthalmologist during eye surgery
15. Assisting during eye surgeries and caring for patients afterward
16. Assessing patients before and after eye surgery
17. Educating patients on how to care for their eye at home after cataract
surgeries
18. Fitting patients with eyeglasses, contacts, or other vision equipment
19. Filling discharge slip for the relevant clients
20. Maintaining cataract surgery outcome and follow up register
21. Stock cards update for the pharmaceutical in the eye ward
22. Pharmacy consumption report provision on monthly base
23. Eye ward reporting on monthly base
24. Provision of success stories of the clients where applicable
25. Coordination with local stakeholders
26. Attending capacity building programs which will organize by HNTPO
27. Any other relevant tasks assigned by the line manager
- Registered ophthalmic nurse or nurse with two-year experience only in the eye care
ward
- At least two-year relevant experience in the eye ward after graduation from the nursing
- Good communication and coordination skills
- working knowledge of the computer and English language
