Project Manager - Supervision

The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day management and supervision of the Building Construction project. This includes coordinating with clients, contractors, and the supervision team, ensuring project milestones are achieved, and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively manage all aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Management

   • Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
   • Monitor progress against project milestones and address delays or risks proactively.
   • Ensure all activities align with the project objectives and client requirements.

2. Team Leadership and Coordination

   • Lead and supervise the project team, including engineers, architects, and site staff.
   • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
   • Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and the supervision team.

3. Quality Assurance and Compliance

   • Ensure that all project activities adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure work quality and adherence to the contract.
   • Address any issues related to design, construction, or materials in a timely manner.

4. Stakeholder Management

   • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
   • Prepare and present progress reports, highlighting achievements, risks, and recommendations.
   • Resolve conflicts or disputes between stakeholders professionally.

5. Financial Oversight

   • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and transparency.
   • Approve invoices, monitor expenses, and address financial discrepancies.
   • Assist in the preparation and submission of claims, including retention money guarantees.

6. Risk Management

   • Identify and assess project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
   • Ensure the project adheres to health and safety regulations to avoid workplace incidents.

Qualifications:

• Master degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing large-scale construction or rehabilitation projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
• Proficiency in English and local languages (Dari and Pashto).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with relevant construction laws, codes, and standards in Afghanistan.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
