Since 2001, HIA has been implementing humanitarian and development programmes in the country devastated by war for decades. In addition to humanitarian aid, our objective is to achieve, through our permanent local office, long-term sustainable results in the areas of education, rural development, public administration development, health and capacity building. In partnership with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), we deliver thousands of tons of food each year through “food for work” programmes to those in need. In the complex food programmes, we help the population to make a long-term sustainable living through income-generating training, agricultural, water management and infrastructural developments. In addition to implementing aid and development programmes, our office in Mazar-I-Sharif in the North of the country also performs intensive coordination throughout the year.

Job Descriptions:

  • Assisting the storekeeper in supply, arrival of new food stock in offloading of food from WFP trucks, organizing and arranging food in standard system in stock/warehouse.
  • Recording of stock-in and stock-out, maintaining and updating Stock Cards.
  • Re-packaging of food packages as per WFP’s Ration Size and well in advance of distribution takes place.
  • Arranging food in a way so that the beneficiaries receive food in easy way with no disturbance and conflict among the beneficiaries.
  • Organizing and proper recording of food distribution in targeted district.
  • Distributing food packages on time, and must be distributed according to project working plan and schedule on a pre-determined quantity and quality.
  • Recording the beneficiaries who received their monthly ration in the distribution book and take their thumb print in the list.
  • Behaving well and kind with beneficiaries while distributing food packages.
  • Comparing the quantity of commodities stock card with number of beneficiaries left.
  • Keeping beneficiary food distribution list all the time in a good condition.
  • Reporting the distribution information on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to project monitor or supervisor.
  • Any other task as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements:

  • BA from Economy/BBA, Social Science or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management is an advantage (experience with WFP projects is a privilege)
  • Ability to resolve any issues during food distribution.
  • Have effective communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Dari, Pashto, and local languages, qualified applicants from Faryab are preferred.
  • Ability to use the computer and have knowledge in MS Office.
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak in English language.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
