About La Chaîne de l'Espoir:

La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, especially children, the same chances of survival and development. Helping the most vulnerable children is more than an ethical obligation, it is a prerequisite for achieving the 2030 goals for children's health and well-being.

We work in 30 countries with a comprehensive approach, focusing on children, mothers and disadvantaged communities:

• Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly through school health programs.
• Care and surgery, to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
• Strengthening the medical and surgical workforce thanks to our international network of experts.
• Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

La Chaîne de l'Espoir has been working in Afghanistan since the early 2000s. In 2005, it built the French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) in Kabul, a non-profit pediatric hospital, to provide high quality surgical care for young patients. Since 2006, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has been responsible for the overall management of the FMIC, with La Chaîne de l'Espoir providing medical support and access to the most vulnerable populations.

In 2016, the hospital expanded with the opening of the Mother and Child Unit offering gynecology, obstetrics and neonatology services, becoming the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC). Services for adults have also been developed in recent years.

The goal of La Chaîne de l’Espoir is to increase the access to quality medical and surgical care in particular for the most vulnerable Afghans. To do so, La Chaîne de l’Espoir:

• Trains and supports the medical, paramedical and technical teams through short and long-term volunteer missions.
• Provides free surgical treatment at FMIC and social care for the most vulnerable children and women coming from all the provinces, including the most remote areas, and the IDP camps around Kabul, through the "Women and Children’s House" (WCH) project.

In 2022-2023, La Chaîne de l'Espoir will continue to provide free access to quality specialized care for the most vulnerable Afghan children and women.

1. Looks for the security of the  WCH guest house and office.
2. Look for the security of social care facilitator team, medical team and MEAL team during the first visit of beneficiaries and interview time.
3. Should control the crowd and any misbehaving manners from beneficiaries and patient attendants.
4. Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff leave the guesthouse.
5. Keeps the security and logistic manager/head of mission informed of any incident in the neighbourhood.
6. Does not allow unauthorized people park their vehicles in front of the guesthouse.
7. Does not allow any body enters to the office without informing guesthouse responsible.
8. Does not allow any suspicious packages to the compounds unless authorized by logistic and Security Manager/head of mission.
9. Checks everybody entering to the guesthouse.
10. Registers all the visitors coming to the Guest House and reports to responsible person.
11.  Keep the generators maintained, (starts it on time and keeps fuel balance).
12. Checks all security lights and reports to the logistic manager if there is any loss or damage.
13. Controls the water accessibility in the guesthouse (water pump, pipes).
14. Switches off all security lights of outside of building during the daytime.
15. Must clean the compound, guard room regularly, and keep all the materials arranged.
16. Has to help cleaner in some parts of their work (heavy/big items).
17. Must obey and work according the time and schedule given by supervisor.
18. Must respect the visitors and behaviour them gently.
19. Perform day and night duty as per roster assigned by the supervisor.
20. Performs any other duty given to him by supervisor

Qualifications

High School graduated

Experience

Between 3 and 5 years of experience in similar position in NGO/INGO

Language

1. Able to speak well on both local languages (Dari & Pashto) English is plus point.

General skills

• Very organized
