Job Descriptions:

The Crowd Controller is responsible for managing and controlling the crowds during food distribution activities to ensure a safe, orderly, and efficient process. The role involves maintaining crowd discipline, preventing conflicts, and ensuring the safety of both beneficiaries and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Crowd Management:

  • Manage the entry and exit points to control the flow of beneficiaries during food distribution.
  • Ensure that beneficiaries form orderly lines and follow the established procedures.
  • Monitor the crowd to identify and address any potential issues or conflicts promptly.

2. Safety and Security:

  • Ensure the safety of all individuals present at the distribution site, including beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers.
  • Implement and follow security protocols to prevent theft, violence, and other security breaches.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement or security personnel if needed.

3. Communication:

  • Provide clear instructions and guidance to beneficiaries regarding the distribution process.
  • Address questions and concerns from beneficiaries in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Communicate any significant issues or incidents to the Security Manager or Project Manager immediately.

4. Coordination:

  • Work closely with distribution staff to ensure smooth operations and timely distribution of food supplies.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling distribution points, barriers, and signage as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a coordinated approach to crowd control and distribution.

5. Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and distribution as required.
  • Report any incidents or irregularities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in debriefing sessions and provide feedback on crowd control measures.

6. Training and Development:

  • Participate in training sessions related to crowd management, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Stay informed about best practices in crowd control and safety measures.

Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security, crowd management, or related fields is a plus.
    • Proven experience in crowd control, security, or similar roles, preferably in humanitarian aid or emergency settings.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
    • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and manage large crowds.
    • Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
    • Basic first aid training is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

    • The role may involve working in challenging environments and conditions.
    • Flexibility to work outside regular office hours, including weekends
