About Muslim Hands International:

Muslim Hands Afghanistan – MHA obtained formal registration from the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan with registration No. 141 in 2005, and is now firmly established with its Headquarters in Kabul, and is fully engaged in relief and development activities in different parts of the country. The work of Muslim Hands in Afghanistan involves; improving the lives of poor and vulnerable through the provision of education, health, WASH, Protection, Livelihood, advocacy, Agriculture and other specialized projects in food security, water purification and sanitation schemes, orphan sponsorship scheme, income generation activities and emergency aid / relief activities in Afghanistan. Muslim Hands Afghanistan aims struggling its way to build a secured society through its core competencies including Health, WASH, Education, Emergency Relief, Food security, Livelihood and Protection. Muslim Hands Afghanistan was formed by a group of professionals and today it is blessed with +100 members include men, women and youth from different skill sets including medical professionals, Program and operation experts, and other professionals in non-profit sector. Muslim Hands Afghanistan is working under the effective leadership of nine national and international members of its board of trustees.

  1. General Information on MH-AFG program interventions:
  • Providing access to education for all and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to receive a quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  • Working towards enhancing healthcare facilities, providing medical supplies, and promoting health awareness to improve the overall well-being of the population.
  • Implementing projects and programs to combat hunger and malnutrition, supporting sustainable agriculture practices, and distributing food to vulnerable communities.
  • Assisting individuals and communities to develop skills, start small businesses, and access economic opportunities, thereby fostering self-sufficiency and reducing poverty.
  • Implementing projects to provide clean drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities, minimizing the spread of diseases and improving overall living conditions.
  • Helping out individuals in emergency cases such as earthquakes, floods, or other natural disasters and displacements

Job Descriptions:

  1. Overall purpose of the position:

MH-Afghanistan is currently seeking for a full-time Reporting Officer to take responsibility for overall reporting related activities and contribute to the project implementation in the field. The incumbent will be responsible for collection, compilation, and communication of all MH-AFG project reports with relevant department, stakeholders and partners.

The incumbent will be supporting the Field Manager and Program Team to ensure effective project implementation and achieving the organizational goals and objectives.  

 

  1. Key Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of his line manager, the Reporting Officer will be responsible for but not limited to the following;

 

Project management and program coordination:

  • Follow up project activities from initiation to closing with government stakeholders
  • Contribute in the process of project implementation
  • Support the program team in drafting concept notes, situation reports, and other analytical information for project development purposes
  • Support the field team in conducting focus group discussions and needs assessments
  • Assist the program team on Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing process with line ministries
  • Assist in development of project plans, and budgets with focus on Emergency, Livelihood and Food Security portfolios.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration on program activities.
  • Identify and address issues or challenges that may arise during program implementation.

 

Communication and reporting:

  • Collect, organize, compile and document the field data into a series of reports that are shared in an organized and timely manner;
  • Produce high quality progress; monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, ad-hoc and final project reports in English, Farsi-Dari and Pashtu languages, based on facts, outputs and inputs from the field;
  • Ensure that information and data from the field is captured, documented, analyzed and reported in a result-based and timely manner;
  • Undertake field visits to collect project’s information to be reflected in the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual/Final Reports;
  • Assist in development of presentations, IEC, and other promotional/visibility materials for MHI’s project to showcase and highlight projects’ activities, services, and accomplishments;
  • Provides high quality editing and formatting services to ensure good quality project reports;
  • Build effective working relationship with local, partner organizations and community to ensure timely collection and validity of realistic project data;
  • Keep close relation with M&E department to ensure all reporting format are in accordance with defined program indicators
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the Project

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. international development/Relations, Social Sciences, Business Administrations, Public Administrations). Master holders will be given preferences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, program coordination, communication and reporting.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills;
  • Excellent program coordination and liaison skills;
