HAS has been helping vulnerable Afghan communities since 2005 through launching different interventions in more than 30 provinces of Afghanistan

Job Descriptions:

The community mobilizer is responsible to maintain close relationship with the communities to facilitate a smooth program and project implementation. Facilitate awareness creation measures and facilitate responses to conflict as a tool to enable their participation in their development process   

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Community mobilizers have the most important role in all community level facilitation and their work must be strategic to ensure that the community become spaces in which transparent, accountable, inclusive and pro-poor development processes are practiced and institutionalized.
  • Mobilize and sensitize communities on program activities and introduce the project to district and community level.
  • Raise awareness of communities regarding the program.
  • Organize first contact with district and village's authorities.
  • enhance community awareness
  • Support and identify the project right holders.
  • Ensure people inclusion to program especially poor and excluded women and men disables and children.
  • Provide the related trainings to the right holders.
  • Facilitate interest and self-help groups in communities, with a focus on poor men and women and marginalized and excluded groups
  • Facilitate and support the distributions in the community level.
  • Assess training needs of the right holders in mid-stream and adjust refresher training.
  • Any other official tasks given by line manager.
  • Reports to Project Coordinator.
  • Conducting a detailed assessment of the communities.
  • Conduct surveys and assessments in the communities and provide feedback and suggestions for the development of the education program.
  • Create positive relations with community through regular meetings and informal discussion for identifying and addressing education needs and issues. He will spend 80% of his working time in the field. Each community should be visited once a month or more, as needed.
  • Create plans for establishing School Shuras with community members and elders to monitor and support the education activities in the community.
  • Work with community to identify education needs, create work plan, assuring that community members are supporting the education program and School Shura members.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to provide accurate and up-to-date information for project monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • Establish and maintain effective coordination with local authorities, women's affairs departments, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Any other activities assigned by the provincial project lead and or supervisor.

  

Job Requirements:

  • Education:

       - Bachelor's degree in social sciences, education, or a related field.

    Experience:

       - 2-3 years in community mobilization or development programs, preferably in Afghanistan.

    Skills:

       - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

       - Proficiency in local languages (Dari, Pashto) and English.

       - Organizational and planning abilities.

       - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Personal Attributes:

       - Commitment to inclusive and participatory development.

       - Flexibility, adaptability, and integrity.

    Other Requirements:

       - Willingness to travel extensively (80% fieldwork).

       - Understanding of local context and community-based education programs.
