About Afghan Technical Consultants (ATC)

Afghan Technical Consultants (ATC) is the first United Nations-sponsored humanitarian mine action NGO in the globe. During the last 35 years of successful operations, ATC has completed the clearance of more than eleven thousand minefields and former battle areas in 32 provinces of Afghanistan. ATC has also destroyed above 4.6 millions of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW). ATC has provided job opportunities for thousands of Afghans in the past 35 years.

To eliminate of mines and ERW within Afghanistan and to reduce the number of casualties among the civilian population and to enable land to be returned to productive use. Under overall supervision of the Team Leader, Section Leader, deminer will be required to manage the day to day running of the demining work and its activities. Specific duties and responsibilities of the deminer will be as follows:

• Adjust daily plan of action and activities according to the instructions of his Section Leader and in line with the Operations SOP as well as teachings of the deminers Course.
• Present daily at the minefield for six hours and regularly perform the demining job in alternative manner. He must never waste his time in unprofessional work;
• Perform demining plan of action and activities carefully.

Educational requirements

• Has successfully passed a full Demining Course.
• Graduates from a secondary or a high school will be preferred.
• Having a valid driving license will be a preference.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Demining Operations with ATC or other MAPA implementing partners with similar procedures to ATC.
• Candidates worked with ATC will be preferred.
  
  Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Able to travel and work in all provinces of Afghanistan

• Have a strong communication skill;
• Open to accepting direction and guidance from team leaderand section leader. 
• Able to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from different cultures and professional backgrounds ;
• The incumbent should have physical fitness, recognized by the ATC authorized physician and age could be from 20 to 45 years.
• At least work experiences of 2 years in demining will be preferable
• Must have received different type of demining Courses as work requires or ready to take demining training which is provided by ATC or relevant Organization.
• Language skill- (speaking, reading and writing) Dari or Pashto.
• Age limit 20-45 years
