Job Descriptions:

  • Develop understanding, awareness and reporting of mental health according to the BPHS/EPHS.
  • Liaise with mental health taskforces and ensure a good coordination of activities between RI, PPHD, IPSO and other stakeholders.
  • Take active part in training and on-the-job training of health facility staff on mental health.
  • Ensure appropriate interventions relating to mental health within the health services.
  • Ensure that there is a proper reporting system is in place from psychosocial nurses to head of health facilities.
  • Collect monthly statistics report from psychosocial nurses and compile them with the existing statistics of RI sub office.
  • Specific Responsibilities in Disability:
  • Develop understanding, awareness and reporting of rehabilitation and disability services from the project sites.
  • Ensure appropriate interventions relating to disability within the health services (awareness session, referral system, availability of material, etc.).
  • Conduct Training needs assessment; prepare training plans, curricula and teaching materials for different categories of health staff on disability.
  • Provide on the job training to the health facility staff on mental health and disability issues and make sure the skills are acquired and practice.
  • Specific Responsibilities in Gender:
  • Develop understanding and commitment to integrate gender equality in programmes and in operations.
  • Work closely and coordinate on regular basis with the health workers and CHWs to ensure that specific needs of women are being met and the key gender issues/concerns are being addressed in health facilities.
  • Create tools to collect information on gender issues.
  • Collect all the information on gender on regular basis and share it along with required recommendations to make the programme planning, budgeting and implementation more gender responsive and sensitive.
  • Attend relevant meetings for the purpose of networking and alliance building with MoPH and other NGOs at the provincial level and sharing of information and outcome of the meetings with the project manager.
  • Identify and communicate to the Project Manager and technical health manager the capacity building needs of the relevant team members on gender concepts and tools.
  • 60-70% of his time should be spent  in supervision visits to the HFs
  • Regularly arranging joint supervision with other stakeholders in the province in order to provide support other stakeholders.
  • Provide relevant information to the project director, and technical manager to provide proper report to main office and donor

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from recognized Medical faculty/ Bachelor of Public Health.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in disability and physical rehabilitation in community and development experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in planning, monitoring, supervision and training.
  •  Good understanding of the mental health and disability services provided in BPHS.
  •  Experience in mental health, disability and Gender.
  • Have received training on Mental health, disability and gender.
  • Good command of English, Fluent in Dari and Pashto both verbally and written
  • Computing skills (Ms Office: word and excel, internet) is essential
  • Team player, capacity builder, flexible in working hours
  • Honest and trustworthy
