About OCHR (Organization for Coordination of Humanitarian Relief):

OCHR is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization implementing relief, stabilization, and development programs across Afghanistan. OCHR’s primary advocacy and existence is based on reducing the suffering of Afghanistan’s most vulnerable groups and providing the tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency, focusing on addressing the needs of communities emerging from conflict or natural disaster. OCHR collaborates with a wide range of partners and donors, local organizations, and many others to deliver sustainable services aligned with SDGs and UN triple nexus i.e. to interlink humanitarian, development, and peace.

OCHR program planning and theory of change mainly focus to achieve A-SDGs i.e. its institutional setup and policy documents is founded to recognize and interlink sustainable development and relevant ongoing processes.

Since its establishment, throughout the years OCHR has developed an integrated strategic approach, which addresses the needs of vulnerable people living both in humanitarian and development settings. OCHR's key programmatic and strategic priorities in Afghanistan are;

  • Education.
  • Health.
  • Food Security through agricultural development and livestock.
  • Water Sanitation and Hygiene-WASH.
  • Peace, justice and social development through public awareness and human rights, promoting right-based approaches.
  • Clean energy and environment.

OCHR differ widely in its program planning and strategies—contributing in long-term interventions concerning humanitarian response and sustainable development, and specifically focuses on the ultra-poor communities of Afghanistan enabling them to develop sustainable livelihood through microfinance and re-integration into society.

Job Descriptions:

  • The Team Leader has the overall responsibility of project implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting to the OCHR head office.
  • Providing Technical Training, ToT to the project staff, Preparing, Training Manuals, Visibility IEC materials, banners and broacher’s, regarding Social Cohesion, risk mitigation, community safety, health, and mediation.
  • To be familiar with Social Cohesion outputs: Reinforcement of Communities for peace, well-being, civic engagement, and social cohesion/inclusion. To run/conduct social cohesion environmental campaigns through community networks/structures.
  • Establish Community Outreach Networks/Structure and link them with Legal Aid/Justice providers, NGOs, Donors, and Humanitarian Aid workers.
  • Rehabilitate Sport Venues at community/education institutional level including technical specification, designs and BoQs and rehabilitation activities.
  • Regular Coordination with the line Manager, OCHR HQ and UNDP field level colleagues under the supervision of OCHR program department.
  • High reporting skills are required including daily, weekly, monthly and project progress and quarter reports.
  • To develop clips or infographics and other materials for project implementation as per the proposal.
  • To work together with the social cohesion and legal aid specialists and to provide the targeted beneficiaries with standard Legal Aid Support (legal counselling, legal documentation and legal representation.
  • Regularly monitoring and supervise the project progress and activities on field level and provide quality/timely reports to the main office.
  • To identify and implement Community- led local recovery plans, social cohesion and resilience programs.
  • To prepare project related Administrative/financial documents including daily PRs, Way bills, Staff Attendance reports and leave requests and any other activity relevant to Admin as instructed by the OCHR HQ Admin/Finance department.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering and Rural Development Only. Master’s degree in this field will highly be recommended.
  • Plus, extensive experience with NGOs, UN and INGOs, in sectors of Social Cohesion, Peace Building, Community/rural development and Community Outreach.

At least 5 years of active/proven experience with NGOs; will be checked.
