Job Descriptions:

The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and managing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient and effective technology operations. This role includes troubleshooting technical issues, overseeing system security, and supporting IT projects to enhance the company's technology capabilities.

  • System Management and Maintenance:

    • Monitor and maintain IT systems, including servers, networks, hardware, and web designing.
    • Ensure that all systems are up-to-date with the latest software updates and patches.
    • Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely manner.
    • Conduct user training and create user manuals for new systems or software.
  • Network Administration:

    • Configure and manage network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    • Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against threats.
  • IT Security:

    • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard IT assets.
    • Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents as they arise.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Software and Hardware Management:

    • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
    • Manage hardware inventory, including procurement and disposal.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or upgrades as needed.
  • Project Management:

    • Participate in or lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, or new implementations.
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and deliver solutions.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
    • Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and other relevant metrics.
    • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
    • Evaluate and negotiate contracts and service agreements.
    • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, software support, and other services.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate) are often preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in IT support or a related role, typically 10 years.
    • Experience with network administration, system management, and IT security.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and office productivity software.
    • Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
    • Familiarity with database management and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Additional Skills:

    • Experience with cloud services and virtualization (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware) can be advantageous.
    • Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices is beneficial.
