Union Aid (UA) was established by a group of Afghan philanthropists and social activists in July 1979 in Peshawar, Pakistan. Union Aid was serving Afghan Refugees and host communities living in/around refugee camps through various projects in three main sectors; health, education and skill development. UA has been providing basic health services through hospitals, Basic Health Units (BHUs), labor rooms, provision of prosthetic limbs and first aid trainings. UA facilitated Afghan Refugees in education sector through providing formal basic and higher education, skill development programs for men and women, literacy centers and scholarships.
Union Aid is actively providing regular support in humanitarian & development sectors such as, Healthcare, Nutrition, Education, Scholarships, Technical Vocational Education Trainings, Family Support Programs, Emergency Response and Support, Livelihoods, Food Security, Shelter, Construction/Rehabilitation of community level infrastructures, Environmental Protection, and WASH.
General Position Summary
Union Aid has been a pioneer organization in humanitarian service delivery for almost 44 years in Pakistan, and then Afghanistan. Have the privilege of executing numerous emergency response projects for the most affected communities across most of the provinces in Afghanistan, in addition to other efforts imitated in development and sustainability areas.
Recent disasters resulted in Thousands of our people losing their lives, being injured and becoming homeless, to reach out to those in need, Union Aid has taken practical measures in financial support of our donor (MI) to respond to this situation through initiating Food and Non-Food packages’ distribution alongside healthcare service delivery which are major requirements for affected families for their survival.
This position will lead the field team in initiating need assessments, preparedness for distribution, identification of project beneficiaries, eligibility review of the beneficiaries, cross-checking, and significantly the distribution of Food items and hygiene under the project to the affected community members in Herat province. The district will be identified as a result of initiating need and vulnerability assessments by the team under this position’s command.
The position holder will report their activities considering the chain of reporting to lead of ERT (Emergency Response Team) and will ensure a timely update on the progress made by his/her team on the ground.
