Job Descriptions:

Main Purpose:
The Help Desk Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive support to project beneficiaries by addressing their questions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining workstation and LAN performance.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to project beneficiaries by analyzing inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring optimal workstation and LAN performance.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify issues, offer reasonable solutions, and guide beneficiaries through corrective steps to resolve their problems.
  • Database Management: Accurately enter each issue into the helpdesk database and maintain detailed records.
  • Reporting: Generate and share helpdesk reports from the database with the manager, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Advisory Role: Advise beneficiaries on appropriate actions to take in response to their technical issues.
  • Procedure Compliance: Adhere to standard help desk procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in support services.
  • Escalation: Identify and escalate urgent issues to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
  • Communication: Keep management informed of recurring problems and provide insights for potential improvements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Project Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with beneficiaries and team members.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining workstation and LAN performance.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze problems, provide effective solutions, and guide beneficiaries through corrective steps.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage helpdesk records and generate accurate reports.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Pashto/Dari.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to travel frequently within the district and occasionally to other areas.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on program needs.
