Scope and General Purpose of Job: 

Job Summary: 

Set up the banquet hall with tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary items before the event. Greet guests and provide them with menus and drink options. Take orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff. Serve food and drinks in a timely and efficient manner.

Additionally, work as a team to follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and understand Banquet Event orders or Event Plans at the beginning of each shift to ensure banquet rooms are set as per the customer’s request.
• Attend all pre-shift meetings to ensure events flow smoothly.
•  Be in communication with the Banquet Captain regarding any functional needs.
•  Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in the Banquet Event Order.
• Make required adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
• Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
• Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies)
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
• Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization.
• Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
• Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning.
• Follow all relevant health department regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests.

Qualification: 

• High school diploma preferred. 
• 1-2 years of experience in banquet waiter.
• Communication, customer-service, interpersonal skills; team-oriented, physical stamina; detail-oriented and self-motivated.
• Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
• Basic math skills
• Attentiveness and patience for customers
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
