Job Description:

Recruiting an intern within the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Unit in the Herat Zone can provide valuable support for ongoing projects by assisting with hiring data collectors, processing their payments, supervising and tracking data collection processes, and reporting. This role offers a learning opportunity for the intern, helping him/her gain practical experience in MEAL processes. Additionally, interns can help alleviate the workload of M&E officer, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks and strategic planning. They often bring fresh perspectives and new ideas, which can be beneficial for improving existing processes and methodologies. Moreover, it helps in identifying potential future employees who are already familiar with the organization's work and culture.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Raising PRFs: Assist in creating Purchase Request Forms (PRFs) for hiring data collectors and translators in the Herat zone.
  • Processing Payments: Manage the payment processing for data collectors in the Herat zone.
  • Tracking Documentation: Maintain and organize MEAL filing and documentation in the Herat zone.
  • Managing Candidate Pool: Track and manage the pool of data collector candidates in the Herat zone.
  • Conducting Reviews: Perform document reviews and data validation to ensure accuracy and completeness for the ongoing project as assigned by the line supervisor.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to monitor ongoing projects as assigned by the line supervisor.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support the MEAL unit in the Herat zone.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment processes for the MEAL unit in the Herat zone.
  • Data Translation and Entry: Handle data translation and data entry tasks as assigned by the line supervisor.
  • Processing Vehicle Requisitions: Manage vehicle requisitions for MEAL activities.
  • Training Arrangement: Organize training sessions under the MEAL unit in the Herat zone.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • English Proficiency: Intermediate or advanced skills in reading, speaking, and listening – Essential.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, browsing, and typing in both English and Dari – Essential.
  • KOBO Collect Knowledge: Familiarity with KOBO Collect – Preferred.
  • Stress Management: Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Travel Willingness: Willingness to travel to the Herat zone programming area.
