Job Descriptions:

  • Collect blood, urine, sputum, and other samples from patients for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare samples for testing, including labeling, processing, and storage, following standard procedures.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests, such as hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and serology, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results to the healthcare team.
  • Perform regular quality control checks on laboratory equipment and reagents to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all laboratory tests, procedures, and results.
  • Prepare and submit laboratory reports as required by the project management.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Dispose of hazardous materials and bio-waste according to established procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
  • Support the procurement and inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Lab Technician in Afghanistan
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical laboratory practices

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
  • Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
