VDO is an independent, non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization established in January 07, 2015. The organization is composed with a strong and committed team to respond to the needs of Afghanistan. VDO’s special concentration on project implementation is impact- centered approach and VDO ‘s team is committed to work for the welfare and progress of society and the vulnerable people. VDO ‘s efforts focus on changing mentalities and attitudes about women’s participation and contribution in the society. Not only, it also focuses on economic development, advocacy, research and girl’s education.

• Conduct nutritional assessments of individuals, including dietary intake, nutritional status, and health conditions.
• Identify nutritional deficiencies or excesses and develop personalized nutrition plans to address these issues.
• Provide one-on-one counseling to individuals and families to help them understand and implement healthy eating habits.
• Educate clients on the importance of balanced nutrition, food safety, and portion control.
• Offer advice on specific dietary needs related to conditions such as malnutrition, obesity, diabetes, and other health issues.
• Organize and participate in community outreach programs to promote nutritional awareness and healthy eating practices.
• Facilitate group sessions, workshops, and seminars on nutrition and health topics.
• Collaborate with community leaders, schools, and other organizations to disseminate nutrition information.
• Monitor the progress of clients and adjust nutrition plans as needed to ensure they meet their health and nutrition goals.
• Conduct follow-up visits or calls to provide ongoing support and encouragement to clients.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
• Certification or license in nutrition counseling is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nutrition counseling or related services.
• Strong knowledge of dietary principles, nutrition science, and health promotion.
• Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment and Dedication:

• Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
• Willingness to work in remote or underserved areas as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical pharmaceutical practices.
• Willingness to work outside official hours
• Willingness to travel and work in remote or underserved areas as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
• Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
