Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

To provide all Planned EPI Related activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Health Sub centers (HSCs) and MHNTs activities according to the monthly plan of action.
  • Assess and evaluate whether EPI activities are in accordance with the plan and regulations.
  • Ensure the quality of vaccination activities, EPI equipment, and facilities through monthly supervision.
  • Assess the training needs of EPI staff regularly through planned visits by FCs.
  • Develop a standard curriculum for different EPI training courses in collaboration with the project manager or technical manager.
  • Develop questionnaires and exams for the training of EPI staff and vaccinators.
  • Cooperate with WHO EPI officers in AFP surveillance to eradicate polio.
  • Coordinated with UNICEF and PEMTs  about EPI related activities
  • Collect the EPI activities report, do analysis, and give feedback to the EPI staff.
  • Carry out on-the-job training at the HSCs and MHNTs, case presentations, and individual instructions.
  • Design, plan, conduct, and report on other EPI training in the region.
  • Train and encourage volunteers in community motivation and mobilization for the implementation of routine and NID campaigns.
  • Develop the micro-plan for routine and NID at the district and provincial level.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual plans of action for the HSCs and MHNTs and training activities of EPI staff.
  • Prepare monthly activity reports for EPI activities.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons. 

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Advanced university degree in medicine or other paramedical studies.

Desirable:

  • Candidates having working experience in BPHS implemented NGOs  as EPI supervisor or Officer up to two years.

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience as EPI Supervisor /officer with INGO/NGOs
  • Experience with monitoring tools and systems in the EPI sectors
  • Having initial training in EPI will be considered an advantage.
  • Preference will be given to the locals of the duty station.
  • The EPI officer must provide regular reports in a timely manner.
  • The EPI officer must have good communication and liaison skills with the community and all staff of the project.

Competency:

  • The EPI officer must be able to speak and write in Pashto, Dari languages and English languages.
