Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political NGO established in 1990. The head office of the organization is located in Kabul, Afghanistan, and delivers humanitarian services in the sectors of Livelihood, Good Governance, WASH, and Emergency through its four regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and the central zone in a decentralized manner.

Job Descriptions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hygiene promotion sessions and home visits.
  • Conduct hygiene promotion for community hygiene promoters.
  • Disseminate key messages on hygiene and carry out a massive hygiene promotion campaign.
  • Provide the targeted population with technical inputs and guidance on water, solid waste, and sanitation facilities management, use, and maintenance.
  • Supervise community hygiene promoters.
  • Distribution of hygiene kits.
  • Conduct baseline, end-line, and KAP surveys.
  • Working in a team and ensuring that problems are identified in the initial stages and solved amicably. 
  • Provide support to the WASH Engineer with adequate information, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and problem-solving.
  • Manage the Hygiene promotion-related logistics, equipment, and materials.
  • Attending all relevant meetings requested by the supervisor relevant to the project goals.
  • Ensure that community/beneficiary feedback is collected and reported on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and other relevant project staff in all issues related to the implementation of hygiene activities.
  • Provide daily/weekly progress/activity reports
  • Motivate the community to contribute to the program.
  • Keep an updated record of all field activities
  • Undertakes any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor

Compliance with policies:

  • Compliance with RRAA’s staff code of conduct and other safeguarding policies such as (Safety/Security SOPs, AAP, PSEA, ESHS, and HR)
  • Make sure all activities under the project are done based on the organization's policies and procedures.

  • Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modeling RRAA values
  • Holds the team and partners accountable to deliver on their responsibilities - giving them the freedom to deliver in the best way they see fit, providing the necessary development to improve performance, and applying appropriate consequences when results are not achieved.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships, with their team, colleagues, Members, and external partners and supporters
  • Approachable, good listener, easy to talk to

Representation:

Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, and events related to the assigned project package.

Safeguarding

Job Requirements:

  1. 14 Grade Passed, Midwife/Nurse, Graduate from MD faculty is desirable.
  2. Minimum 2 years of working experience with national and international NGOs in hygiene promotion.
  3. Good coordination, networking, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  4. Good communication and liaison skills with the community and all staff.
  5. Written and spoken English is a plus.
  6. To be able to propose solutions to the identified problems/challenges.
  7. Flexibility is requested regarding the working hours and the live-in community after the working hours.
  8. Prefer to the residential province.
